During the 1960s, a strange story was told about Ambassador Lanes Bowling Club. The 17th lane was rumoured to be haunted, with a ghostly figure in blue overalls seen wandering its length. The machinery for that lane was also said to be erratic, acting up on its own.

One evening, a staff member working late heard the distinct sounds of the lane’s machinery starting up by itself. Despite knowing they were the only person in the building, the machinery on the 17th lane was in full operation, bowling a game for a phantom guest.
