Until it was destroyed by fire in 1933, the ancient timber farmhouse of Northlands, believed to be over 300 years old, stood near Goldsmiths Manor. This old building was known for its profoundly eerie atmosphere.

A former resident reported that the kitchen was a place of particular unease, where a door would often open on its own, as if by some invisible force. Chillingly, blood stains on the floorboards in another part of the house were said to be from a man who had taken his own life. It is speculated that this tragic event is the source of the invisible entity that still haunts the farmhouse.
