Around 2008, a Special Constable in Pitsea returned to the station late one evening to find it completely empty; everyone had left to attend an emergency. He walked through the building, checking each room, but found no one.

After getting changed and settling down in the rest room to do some paperwork, he was startled to hear someone walking on the floor above him, the creaky new floorboards groaning under the weight. The footsteps headed into one of the offices. Though it was a new building, the floors were known for being "bouncy and noisy."

Curious, he walked upstairs to investigate, only to find the entire floor still in darkness. After looking around, he realised he was still completely alone. The mysterious footsteps had vanished, leaving him with an unsettling question of what—or who—had made them.
